Message templates & file import

Create, import, filter and edit reusable message contents.

Enable replacement#

Open Clients → Edit → Contents and enable Message contents. Add active templates and configure their block size and order. An enabled switch without an active eligible template does not provide useful replacement content.

Message contents and file import

Import a file#

Each non-empty line creates one content record. The optional format is block, content or block;content. Keep a copy of the input file and inspect parsed text, active state, block size and SMS counter before saving. The client editor supports up to 5,000 templates; its add-content input is limited to 1,000 characters.

Plain content without a block prefix

The example demonstrates import formatting. Validate supported token substitution in your instance before relying on a literal placeholder in production.

Manage large lists#

Use content text, block-size and active-state filters. Select rows for bulk editing or deletion. A selected row count describes the selection, not all matching records on other pages. Clear all is different from removing a single draft line.

No-URL messages only#

This mode applies replacement only to traffic selected by Remove URLs. Set a nonzero removal percentage in Settings. Normal replacement and URL-generation options should be reviewed together.

Rotation and persistence#

Block sizes influence runtime template rotation. The runtime rotation counter is held in memory and resets on switch restart. Editing existing clients without loading or changing template content preserves their saved list; do not replace a list with an empty import accidentally.

Verify#

Save, reopen Contents, and confirm text, active states and block sizes. Use a controlled test and the final transformed CDR text to verify the actual result.
