Platform overview

How SMSFlare connects SMPP traffic, SMS providers, Voice and MySQL.

What SMSFlare does#

You rent a server with ready-to-use SMSFLARE from us. Our team supplies, configures and maintains the server and software and handles technical operations. You focus on traffic and your customers.

SMSFlare is the switching and operations layer between your applications and your own telecom providers. It manages clients, routes, message processing, billing, delivery records and Voice OTP jobs. It does not supply carrier traffic or termination.

The same incoming SMPP submit_sm can use the client's selected delivery adapter. SMPP routes to SMS gateways; VOICE creates a durable Voice job for a SIP gateway. Selecting Voice is explicit. Application-controlled fallback between SMS and Voice is separate from retrying providers within a routing group.

Components#

ComponentResponsibility
SMPP switchBind authentication, submissions, SMS routing, billing and receipts
Web APIAdministration and client-panel operations
Voice workerDurable jobs, route selection, SIP calls and call outcomes
MySQLConfiguration, wallets, tariffs, jobs, CDRs and events
NginxHTTPS, static admin/client builds and API proxying

Current implementation#

Voice supports SIP/UDP, static IVR, Google Cloud TTS and flash-call routes. PCMA, PCMU and G729 depend on available audio and conversion support. Recording configuration exists in route data, but the current recording adapter is disabled. SIP digest challenge retries and additional cloud TTS adapters are not implemented.

Daily operations#

Start with Dashboard for a daily overview, then inspect individual submissions in CDRs, the report formerly named Logs. The operational panel is separate from the commercial website customer account.
